The new
colormyheartcolordare.blogspot.com/
for the week uses just these few Close To My Heart colors:
- Ruby
- Crystal Blue
- Colonial White
- White Daisy
I've also gone to MOJO Monday and got inspired from their weekly sketch 396.
The unusual colors to put together in this challenge are the 2 whites. Almost always it is either one or the other, so we are stepping out of the box and being challenged to put both together.

I pulled out one card from my Colonial White Value Pack X1410 (50-5 1/2 x 4 1/4 cards and envelopes).
I proceeded to cut a 5 x 3 3/4 piece of Crystal Blue cardstock from the Whimsey Assortment of Paper Fundamentals z2033 The corner was flipped. The Ruby cardstock rectangle is 3 1/4 x 2 1/2 and the White Daisy cardstock on top of the Ruby is 2 1/4 x 3. The Cricut cut flower and butterfly were both cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge.
*When I cut flowers, butterflies, snowflakes or any shape I like, i usually cut many and throw them in a see thru shoe box labelled "Cricut Shapes". That way there are always some waiting to be used.
The stamp sets used for the card are:
The butterfly was stamped on White Daisy cardstock with the dotted pattern on the triangle in Crystal Blue ink and the banners were stamped on White Daisy cardstock in Ruby ink then cut out. One banner was stamped with White Daisy ink on Ruby cardstock.
For a little added interest, I used the Marvy® Uchida® LePen™ Journaling Pen to outline the white cardstock rectangle, butterfly and flower and drew the antennae. The flower was distressed in Ruby and the white rectangle in Crystal Blue. I added some first and second generation flowers and the "Hi" in Ruby ink.
The bling in the middle of the flower is discontinued. Any bling of your choice could be used. The bling showing the track of the butterfly was a portion of a Sparkle Clear Flourish-small.
Happy Card Making! I can't believe I used to say "I was NOT interested in making cards." Don't put restrictions on yourself people. I the words of the old lady in a commercial a long time ago, "try it you'll like it"!
